We know the benefits of good acoustics in a school classroom and why it’s important, a few major reasons are, to improve academic performance, reduce stress and anxiety for both teachers and students and many more. However another area which can highly benefit from good acoustic is the school canteen. In a canteen environment, the acoustics are very important for experiencing a good moment of rest. A busy canteen with reverberation creates an unsettling noise level. This leads to restlessness and, ultimately, fatigue in people.

ISF Academy where in need of a quick a solution with minimal disruption to school calendar and the existing design. Together with Eureka Design we were able to improve the acoustic in the canteen by implementing our Barrisol Stretch ceiling with Microperf to their existing plasterboard ceiling design. Not only was the school able to keep the ceiling design but we were able to make the entire canteen more efficient by enhancing the sound absorptions capabilities.
